What To Expect at a House Showing!

So You Have Your First Showing!

What Now?

1. Scheduling The Showing

If buyers are interested in your house, they'll want to see it as soon as possible so they don't miss out. You'll need to be in close contact with your agent to schedule showings in a timely manner.

2. Hosting The Showing

Your listing will be present to walk potential buyers through the home during the showing. Interested buyers will be accompanied by their agents if they're represented by one. Most home owners will vacate the property during showings.

3. Length Of A Showing

Buyers will have access to your property for the duration of their appointment, which is usually one hour. Their agent-or yours- will take them through the home, ensuring they observe etiquette and answering any questions.

4. Taking A Closer Look

Buyers can look in cabinets, cupboards and closets- any that's built in. Furniture drawers are off limits, since you will be taking those with you. The basement attic, garage, shed and utility areas can be looked at too!

5. After The Showing

When the showing is complete, the buyer's agent is responsible for ensuring the property is left in the same condition in which it was found, and that the door is locked. Then, any questions or offers will generally be communicated between the buying and listing agents.
